A space to draw together group discussion about: (1) the appropriate technical platform for the development of Global Sensemaking project; (2) how we enable data to flow between existing tools; and (3) the shape of the tools to come.

What's the best technical platform for the development of the group?

As an experiment to help give the discussion around this issue more structure, I have seeded the debate map below with some of the potential options open to us as a group.

Let's see if we can flesh out the pros and cons of the different platforms, and layer in any additional issues arising...

If you log-in again now, you should have editing access to all maps (without requiring further permission). I suspect from your description, that your previous "guest viewing session" was still live in your browser after you completed the registration loop. We'll work on the code now to eliminate the appearance of this ambiguous signal in the future.

As we are planning to release a substantially updated version of Debategraph on Wednesday this week, you might prefer to wait for the new version to be uploaded before working on the map again (to keep the learning curve a simple as possible).

Not happy with the character limit; just when I get on a roll explaining something, it starts flashing a warning at me.

BTW, this is a very good example of how Friend Connect enabling Debategraph and using a Ning Gadget could allow any user of this group to use Debategraph without having to create a new userid, etc. (That's the theory, at least)

Many thanks for the Friend Connect suggestion—it looks very promising—and sorry to read that the nodes you added yesterday are not visible at the moment. Can you expand on what happened briefly in an email and I'll see if I can figure out what happened.

The application has been very stable in this respect across the last 18 months; however, it's possible that the current live update—which we are mid-stream in at the moment, and which is changing the edit button functionality—may be a factor here.

It would be helpful, for example, from a diagnostic perspective to know (if you can remember) if the regular confirmation message was displayed after you transmitted the new nodes)?
