I am Research Associate at KMi (Knolwdge Media Institute), The Open University, in Milton Keynes (UK), working with Simon Buckingham Shum in the "Collective Intelligence Project". Current research plans aim at investigating how new media can shape the development of collective intelligence to cope with complex environmental matters such as global warming and climate change.
Hi Anna. Looking forward to meeting you at the meeting in Berkley. I'm intrigued by your description of "memory trace" in collaborative discourse. I am in the process of modifying my Adaptrode learning mechanism (memory traces in short- intermediate- and long term memory: http://faculty.washington.edu/gmobus/Adaptrode/causal_representation.html). I developed this in the context of biologically-inspired neural networks used in an adaptive robot (an animat) to work as a memory trace in my ConsensUs project (http://faculty.washington.edu/gmobus/ConsensUs.html).
