better you than me, although i don't have a beard to freeze!

right now it's a balmy 36.

at least in co it's pretty dry. with the humidity here you feel every degree, warm or cold.. august is particularly wicked. every july i keep tellin myself i'm going to co for all of august! somehow i never make it then...

one of the strange things i noticed between dry and humid - silver tarnishes much more in humidity.

do you watch maddow? redford was on last night. he was talking about the latest bush disaster. on election day, when everyone's attention was on the election - he got the bureau of land management to ok drilling, coal mining etc in utah - near and surrounding national parks (arches for one) and protected lands. not even the parks dept knew about this. he did an end run around them. the public comment time is almost over. time to call the congress critters and let them know.

i called the congress critters earlier this week. i added - and prevent w from doing any more damage in the next fifty something days.

he did something else this week and i can't think of it at the moment.

where i live, we have a township dictator, er manager. i totally understand.

Thanks for the support, Geoff! Glad to be reminded about this space, also. I need to make better use of it. Hope the cats are fat and happy.

I am a big fan of Green Cities Coalition and plan to chat with Steve Saint soon about how I can best aid that effort. Hopefully I can attend the big transportation pow wow. Look forward to it.

finally getting back to you on this! didn't want a hurried reply to go out on this one . i'd given up on "religion" too, but some now very precious spiritual practices found me anyway :) literally, i wasn't looking . once i saw that the Anishinaabe lifeways and spiritual practices, if you will, were working beautifully with me, every other sacred walk became precious: i was already sometimes meditating with and regularly working with quakers, and now going to my mom's lutheran church with her, or the khmer buddhist temple with my godfamily, or to sufi dance or meditation at the tai chi center, whatever it is, it all seems precious . this does not include violent extremists or those who believe that their way is the only way i can love them but would probably not choose to practice with them . that's a lot of words . i'm a peacemaker too, but don't take on blame or someone else's stuff if i can help it . i sure do find i learn a lot from "enemies" and blamers though, although i wouldn't call it fun! to be continued . i'm very sleepy . nitey nite

here here! :)

"i'm more into finding rhythms in nature (not exactly animism - but i do believe in sacred places and abstract energies that transcend the concrete world"

yes and that's why anishinabe ceremony and lifeways work well for me . and since i've seen abstract energies in sacred ceremonies and everyday life i'm a believer too . i can be sort of from missouri sometimes and so the actual experience helps!

here i go off to world save . my inboxes are scanned . me

i'm baaaack . scary, huh? . nope, my mom never warned me about folks like you :) . so, lynn-without truly is saving some of the world... someone better! . i've been off saving one friend with post-surgical complications among other things . so we'll see if i alienate the geeks of the world with my writerly stuff . you are very well-expressed yourself you know . beware!

ah ha . no computer time . that was me last week . i sort of miss my dogooder days and as i job search if it takes me back in that direction that would be ok . i sort of went from whole neighborhoods to one family, my godfamily/large extended Khmer family, when it comes to helping others out . and my friends and aging Mom and others who cross my path of course . mostly the last 10 years it's been a life of simplifying in all areas of my life and healing from multiple chemical poisonings in the hoods . kept paid work simple too . now i'm ready to jump back into the fray in some way . that's my main task for the day, online searching, plus i tutor tonite . to be continued . i'm enjoying getting to know you and lynn as we chat . have hesitated adding others as they comment, i guess mostly to protect my time as i job search . we'll see . want to do some reading of others postings on the site tomorrow now that my friend's healing from her surgery . i love co by the way, isn't that where you are? . took a few weeks exploring there after i left the hoods, sort of circled from Denver down as far as Trinidad, over to Durango area, back up by Grand Junction and into Crested Butte, Gunnison, Salida etc . even thought about moving there . better get back to work . to be continued
