    IMNSHO successful negotiations, however they're formed explicitly, are fundamentally about "deriving common interests". Seems to me most social narrative is about strengthening in-group/out-group identity i.e. polarization / zero-sum etc.

    I noticed a few years ago that "evidence-based" has come into more use. A comment on previous practice, ehh whot? *grin* But really, it's like bacon&eggs ... the pig is committed but the chicken is only involved ... evidence-based and task-oriented is where I've been since, well, for most of my active adulthood. That is not an empty distinction. The point, to my way of thinking, is more to generate results than new tools.
