Systemic Innovation

In systemic innovation we take a step beyond offering or adding sensemaking tools to a conventional practice, such as journalism of science; we combine sensemaking and other IT tools and use them as Lego blocks to recreate the practice – by aligning it with the social purposes it needs to serve. This group is part of a project to co-create an innovation ecosystem for good journalism, that will be initiated in Barcelona November 13-16, 2011. For more information see KnowledgeFederation.org

Contribute to "Co-Creating an Innovation Ecosystem for Good Journalism"

Physical presence in Barcelona is of course highly desired (we will be co-creating together...) but it is not required. Write here or send us an answer to the three questions for one of the tracks or both, and either present your idea online on the corresponding day of the workshop, or ask us to present it for you. 1. Good Journalism Track: We will federate answers to the following three questions:
    • Difference - How should journalism be different?
    • Accountability - How can we secure that journalism will answer to its key social role?
    • Sustainability – How will good journalism make revenue?
  2. Transdiscipline Track: We will federate answers to the following three questions:
    • Difference – What are the key characteristics of an ‘innovation ecosystem’ or a ‘transdiscipline’?
    • Transdiscipline dynamics – How, and with what technologies as ‘Lego blocs’ should the ‘innovation ecosystem for good journalism’ function?
    • New journalism dynamics – How, and with what technological building blocs, should the new media channel function?
